PowerSellerNYC complaint by Martinrandal
Buyer Beware. Ordered and paid for a new Sharp LC42D72 42" LCD HDTV, received a used, lesser value Sharp 37" (LC37D40U). If you do decide to take the risk and order, MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE PRODUCT NUMBER ON BACK OF TV. We didn't realize that it was different until close inspection. The outer box labeling was correct. Unfortunately we had already signed for the delivery. Called immediately. No resolve. No refund. No communication. Complaints have been filed with the BBB, Consumer Protection Agency, and the Internet Crime Complaint Center. Point of interest; search Brooklyn StoreFronts to view this store.

I recently placed an order of a plasma TV from Power Sellers NYC and was charged Shipping Insurance -- was told it was not optional. Anyone else heard of this?

I found this page after I ordered and I called back and the salesman reassured me that everything was ok. I paid for expedited shipped and got my TV in a week. It works fine, it was packed properly. For me they turned out just fine....

I ordered a $799 Visio L37 HDTV on Oct 1st 2007 that arrived a week later. The TV was defective. I tried Visio support in hopes that it could be revived but they told me it was more than two years old and had nothing to suggest. I repeatedly phoned Powersellernyc and finally received a replacement on the 30th. It was a remanufactured unit but at least it worked. Powersellernyc told me that they would pick up the defective unit. On the 31st of December they billed my credit card another $799 for the defective TV that still awaits pickup on 9th May

UPDATE: The TV has been picked up and full credit given.

This customer called in after receiving and signing for a TV, stating that he got a 37 inch TV inside of a 42 inch box. This unit was actually dropshipped directly from the Sharp factory, and they state that there is no way possible that the unit left the factory (meaning a 37 in a 42 box). We had to do much investigations, and during the process this customer wrote this review. Since then we have worked it out with him, and reached and agreement. He is now completely satisfied. Customer support is our number one priority, and this was a rare case that took some time.
